Christian Ghion is considered to be one of the greatest designers of his generation. His career includes a series of happy encounters, especially the one with Forge de Laguiole
Christian Ghion studied Law from 1976 to 1981. In 1982 he met architect Patrick Nadeau and together they founded the Ghion-Nadeau practice. Three years later they won the ‘Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris’ award. The following year he met Andrée Putman, publisher Teruo Kurosaki and Philippe Starck. In 1997 he collaborated with the Tarkett Sommer Company. A year later he founded his own studio. His main focus changed to interior designing and event planning. He has decorated the Chantal Thomas boutique, the Pierre Gagnaire restaurants in Paris and Tokyo, and more recently, created a collection of glass vases for Salviati or the Cap Berro gallery. His works are included in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum in New York and have been displayed at the Cartier Foundation in Paris. In 2008 he created his first and very successful pocketknife for FORGE DE LAGUIOLE. One year later, four knife collections were born. His latest creation for FORGE DE LAGUIOLE is very delicate as well as powerful.
